Eliseart1

Street Painting by Elise McConnell: A Bali Tiger stands in the "pit of extinction". An endangered San Francisco garter snake is half in and half out of the pit, while a little girl helps hatch a baby garter snake. McConnell also painted herself, drawing Einstein, who is drawing her. Created in 1996.

Eliseart2Street Painting by Elise McConnell: Elise depicted Father Virgil Cordano from the Santa Barbara Mission (a big supporter of the I Madonnari street painting festival) holding an American eagle and a California condor while numerous other endangered species gather around him. Created in 1995.

Eliseart3

Street Painting by Elise McConnell: One of Elise's earlier 3-D paintings, shows a dragon coming up out of a hole in the pavement. Created in 1988 (the year of the dragon).

3D street painter Rod Tryon was at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival where he created a refreshing and fun 3D street painting. I know the turn out at the festival was huge, but if you don't live in the Miami area or missed the live performance, we're glad to post some photos of Rod's work in progress!

RTryon - AfAH_Coconut Grove startRod working on the top section of 'Cliff with Waterfall' 3D street painting at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. The brown sketch Rod drew first lets him see where to apply the color chalk.

RTron - AfAH_Coconut Grove in progressRod's 'Cliff with Waterfall' 3D street painting at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Miami, Fl. The waterfall section is just getting started with some blue colored in at the top of the street painting.
