Posted: 23 Apr 2012 03:03 AM PDT Ever since the advent of lolcat-popularising weblog I Can Has Cheezburger? in early 2007, funny felines have become a widely beloved sensation of the world wide web. Yes, thanks to ICHC’s side-splitting hilariousness, humorous videos of comical cats now fill the comedy corridors of YouTube; priceless pictures of knee-slapping kittens decorate the hallways of flickr and twitpic; even the App Store has taken advantage of the cat-loving craze, with iPhone app CatPaint allowing users to seamlessly insert cats into photographs with the prod of a finger. One site of many that should raise the interest of cat lovers the world over is Stuff on My Cat, a picture-based blog featuring items submitted by the site's users. Launched in 2005, it exists to showcase images of cats with – get this, right – stuff on them. This "stuff" could be anything: it could be a cowboy hat, a toy car, a toddler, a slice of toast or, as you can see above, a rainbow-tinted afro. And it's not restricted to just one measly object being placed on your cat – no no, you can have several objects on your cat, as one user did when, rather interestingly, placing a banana and toilet roll on their puzzled little pussycat. Stuff on My Cat has proven very popular, having thus far been mentioned in People Magazine, The NY Times, The Daily Show, GQ, and many others, as well as garnering over 18,000 fans on Facebook. We've assembled a few of our favorite entries from the site below, but head on over to the site itself to see many, many more cats with a plethora of stuff on them; we guarantee your ribs shall be thoroughly tickled. |
