7 Best Smartphones with 6GB RAM Posted: 08 Nov 2016 07:09 AM PST The smartphone market is heating up and even as 2016 is coming to an end, there are new 'superphones' that are released every day. Last year, 2 gigs of RAM on a phone was considered adequate but things have escalated to a whole new level. Now we have phones coming out with 4GB and some even have 6GB of RAM. Take a look at our top 7 picks of the best smartphones with 6GB RAM. Xiaomi Mi MixThis has to be the best-designed phone of 2016 and there are no words to describe the beauty of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The phone's first sale concluded recently and it was sold out in just 10 seconds. The Xiaomi Mi Mix is not all about beauty; it has some serious firepower under the hood. Mi Mix is powered by the Snapdragon 821 along with a mammoth 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The near bezel-less display is the USP of the phone and it has been termed by some of the critics as the most innovative design of 2016. The phone is only available in limited numbers, so you better hurry if you want to get your hands on this one. You can always check out the other excellent phones Xiaomi have released. Huawei Mate 9 Porsche DesignThis is the latest phone on the list and it is from a manufacturer that may not be known to all. Huawei announced the latest in their Mate series of flagship phones and there were a lot of surprises. Indeed, the most striking of them all was the fact that the phone was designed by Porsche. The dual-edge display along with the smooth curves reminds us of the Porsche 911. It has the brand new Kirin 960, which is supposedly better than all the chipsets on the market right now, and 6GB of RAM. Internal storage is massive at 256GB. The device will be available only from December, so you'll have to wait a bit more. In the meantime, you can always check out other phones by Huawei. OnePlus 3OnePlus 3 was one of the first smartphones with 6GB RAM. That is what made it so special and the reason why it is still in great demand. The phone was a redefining moment for the company and they decided to make quite a few changes with this one. The Sandstone finish at the rear was ditched for an aluminum body. This is quite slippery to hold on to, but the metal body gives the phone an unparalleled premium appeal. Get yourself the OnePlus 3 and things are now a lot easier thanks to the lack of the Invite System. It is also one of the cheapest smartphones with 6GB RAM, giving you another reason to try it out. Oppo R9s PlusOppo phones are known for their massive front cameras that take splendid selfies and the Oppo R9s Plus is not different. It has a 16MP front camera with an f2.0 aperture that can capture some amazing shots, even in low-light situations. The phone is also a great performer with the Snapdragon 653 and 6GB of RAM under the hood. The Oppo R9s Plus is expected to come out soon, but there are a lot of other choices from Oppo for all the selfie addicts out there. In the meantime, you can already get an Oppo R9s Plus case, just to be ready. Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe ZS570KLAsus completely changed the design of the Zenfone when they launched the Zenfone 3. This phone retained some of the design aspects of its predecessor while adding in some fresh elements. The phone looks really glossy thanks to the metal and glass build. There are quite a few variants to choose from and the top-end model comes with the Snapdragon 821, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe is one of the few smartphones with 6GB RAM that you can get your hands on right away. ZTE Nubia Z11ZTE phones are well known for their trademark home button that has red accents around it. The ZTE Nubia Z11 has it too and looks spectacular with the combination of gold and red. The Nubia logo is drool-worthy and you will want to get your hands on it as soon as you see it. But don't think this phone just about looks. The ZTE Nubia Z11 has the Snapdragon 820 under the hood along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It is also one of the more affordable 6GB RAM smartphones, just a tad more expensive than the OnePlus 3. Lenovo ZUK Z2 ProLenovo partnered with ZUK to bring out devices powered by Cyanogen. That agreement was called off and the ZUK Z2 Pro comes with ZUI 2.0 atop Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The phone's home button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner which has a lot of useful functions like going back, deleting background apps and returning home. Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro also has some great hardware. There's the usual Snapdragon 820 along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of non-expandable storage. It is a great looking device that also performs really well. You can buy the ZUK Z2 Pro in two colors, Ceramic White and Titanium Black.
Best Gaming Desktop Computers 2016 Posted: 07 Nov 2016 02:32 PM PST
Whether you’re a member of the PC Master Race or not, it’s no secret that playing video games is best done on a PC Desktop. And for that reason, taking into account price, upgradeability, and performance, we’ve put together a shortlist of reviews, selecting the 5 best gaming desktop PCs for you to buy.
#1 Best Gaming Desktop: CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100AWhy it’s in the top 5: When it comes to a starter PC, the price and the specs can’t beat what you get with the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A, which seems like it was made to make the transition into PC gaming as comfortable, and affordable, as possible. In our opinion, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A is the best gaming desktop to buy when you take price and performance into account. It’s perfect for new gamers who are just getting into PC gaming, and is set up to be upgraded with plenty of space up top to add components. Pretty much any PC game will run extremely smooth on it, especially on low settings, and as we mentioned, you can easily upgrade it for the more demanding features. Buy it on Amazon. #2: SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I Desktop Gaming ComputerWhy it’s in the top 5: With almost instantaneous boot time and close to 0 bloatware when you start it up for the first time, the SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I is the ideal gaming desktop for gamers who want to cut the BS and get straight to business. If it wasn’t for the price, the SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I would be on the top of our gaming desktop list. However, at its price range, it’s probably the best PC around. It’s extremely fast, it’s very clean in terms of software and hardware when you get it, and like the other computers on this list, it’s very simple and welcoming for upgrading. Plus, I love the blue. It’s not the most silent of machines, but it’s worth making the effort. Buy it on Amazon. #3: CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Gaming DesktopWhy it’s in the top 5: The combination of the price ($720), the performance thanks to a terrific video card and the surprising quality of build make the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR gaming desktop an incredible way to introduce gaming to new PC users. For the price, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A gaming desktop PC is close to ideal, especially for new PC gamers. Basically, the RX 480 ensures you’ll be able to run pretty much every possible game on it. Buy it on Amazon. #4: SkyTech Archangel Gaming ComputerWhy it’s in the top 5: For this price ($599.99), it’s probably difficult to find a better PC for both gaming and rendering videos (or something in that ballpark) than the SkyTech Archangel gaming computer. Our second SkyTech creation on the list, and just a tad less impressive than the Shadow. The SkyTech Archangel gaming computer stands out not just because of it’s slick white exterior, but it’s simply an excellent device, regardless of the price (and excellent one) you pay for it. Your games, or any other activity you choose to use it for, will run quickly and smoothly. Buy it on Amazon. #5: CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 Gaming DesktopWhy it’s in the top 5: Again, when it comes to new PC gamers, it’s hard to beat this price and get this quality in terms of graphics and speed. The CyberpowerPC GUA880 gaming desktop is the cheapest PC on this list, but it’s more of an advantage than a deterrent, as long as you know what you’re getting, which we’re here to help you do. CyberpowerPC’s GUA880 gaming desktop PC rounds up our top 5. It’s cheaper than the others on the list for a reason: It’s initially built for lighter gaming and not the heavy-duty graphic demands of high-end stuff like Witcher 3 on its ultra settings. But for the more casual PC users who aren’t that huge on gaming, or simply want something a little more low-tech to upgrade from, it’s a fantastic purchase. Buy it on Amazon.
Top 7 just doesn’t sound as good as Top 5, but there were a couple of desktops we were considering putting into the list. If one of our ‘5 Best’ doesn’t sit right with you or you’d like to see a couple of more options, here they are: First Runner-Up: CUK Trion VR Ready Gaming PCThe CUK Trion gaming PC is probably the ultimate gaming machine. You can run games at 1080p 60 fps or even at higher resolutions smoothly and crisply. It can render videos in minutes. A great thing to own if you’re on your PC all the time. But there’s a price to pay for this kind of quality, which is why we left it out: You can buy it on Amazon for $1949.99. Second Runner-Up: SkyTech Archangel 960-I Gaming DesktopWhile I love SkyTech PCs, the Archangel 960-I was left out because it’s a tad inferior to the five we let in, considering the price and performance. For computers at under $700, it does as good of a job as any pretty much. I also slightly prefer something other than the red & white combination. You can buy it on Amazon for $689.99. Famous Last WordsLook, you can’t go wrong with the seven computers on the list here. If money isn’t a problem and you’re looking for the cream of the crop, get the CUK Trion gaming PC. However, it didn’t make our top 5 for a reason: Most of us, even avid gamers, don’t want to pay that much. PCs like the SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I are going to run any game extremely well. And if you’re looking for lighter gaming or consider yourself a noob, there’s nothing better than the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A, which doesn’t set you back too much. Obviously, you can dive into the vast world of gaming desktops and try to find the perfect fit for you out of the countless options. But if you stick to our recommendations, regardless of the gaming desktop you choose, I’m pretty sure you’ll be more than satisfied.
13 Most Hilarious Thanksgiving Hats Posted: 07 Nov 2016 12:21 PM PST Whether it’s Thanksgiving dinner or a Thanksgiving party, you’re going to need an awesome hat. So while you’re here, take a look at the funniest Thanksgiving hats just waiting to make people laugh this holiday season. From pumpkin pies to all variations of turkeys, be it on a headband or actual hat, turns out choosing something to put on your head at Thanksgiving isn’t very easy. You can try and find something on your own, but we made this list thinking it will simplify things for you, and give you a nice little chuckle along the way: Thanksgiving Plush Pumpkin Pie HatI’m not sure wearing a pumpkin pie hat for Thanksgiving dinner is the smartest of ideas, but I’m pretty sure that at some point during the holiday it’ll be appropriate. Thanksgiving Turkey HeadbandNot exactly a hat, but this Thanksgiving turkey headband is the perfect headgear for a Thanksgiving party, as long as there’s no serious dress code. Thanksgiving Roasted Turkey HatFew things are as classy as a hat of a roasted Thanksgiving chicken. Few things would make Thanksgiving dinner funnier as well. Thanksgiving Turkey HatI’m not sure why, but there’s something a bit more respectable in the Thanksgiving turkey hat compared to the roasted chicken one. Thanksgiving Plush Corn Cob HatWhether you’re going to Thanksgiving dinner, Thanksgiving party or a Nebraska game, the Corn Cub hat is a terrific addition to your wardrobe. Thanksgiving Drumstick HeadbandThe best thing about the Thanksgiving Drumstick headband is you can use in on Christmas for antlers. Thanksgiving Deluxe Pilgrim HatProbably the only hat on this list that doesn’t demand people to ridicule you. If you want to be the respectable looking one at Thanksgiving dinner, assuming everyone’s wearing a hat or something, buy the Thanksgiving deluxe pilgrim hat. Thanksgiving Turkey Chef HatThe Thanksgiving turkey chef hat is a special item, that only the person cooking the dinner gets to wear. It’s also a sign that you don’t have to do the dishes at the end of the feast, so don’t lose it, or you’ll end up elbow deep in soapy water and potato leavings. Thanksgiving Knitted Crochet Turkey Beanie Cap for BabiesThe little ones need to keep their head warm, with the temperatures dropping by late November. So getting a knitted crochet turkey beanie cap for your baby is a terrific idea. It’s available in black or beige. Thanksgiving Turkey Hat With LightsYes, yes, I know the turkey has small Christmas hats on. So what? No reason not to wear it on Thanksgiving as well, and make sure everyone knows you’re the life of the party with the light show going on. Thanksgiving Referee Turkey HatOn Thanksgiving, you’re supposed to watch football, so the turkey referee hat is a terrific way of enjoying both worlds, although the people sitting behind you might get annoyed because you’re blocking the view. Thanksgiving Stuffed Turkey HatI’m not sure if this is a mask or a hat, but the stuffed turkey idea is one of the better ones when it comes to Thanksgiving, although it probably works in Christmas too. Thanksgiving Elope Turkey HeadbandOur second Thanksgiving Turkey headband on the list, and one that has a slightly more colorful and fuller look. You’re going to look fittingly ridiculous with either one, so it doesn’t really matter which one you get.
