Posted: 13 Jan 2017 11:03 AM PST Smartwatches are becoming quite the trend nowadays with almost all smartphone manufacturers and luxury brands releasing their very own smartwatch. With high-resolution displays and tons of smart features, they are becoming indispensable for the millennial crowd. This list of the Top 6 Smartwatches is the best that money can buy right now. The choices were quite obvious considering the fact that they've been very well received by critics and users worldwide. So, let's get started! Apple Watch Series 2Apple announced their Series 2 smartwatch along with their latest iPhone a few months back. If you haven't checked out the best cases for the iPhone 7, go check it out now! Series 2 smartwatch is a big improvement over its predecessor. The new watchOS 3 on the Series 2 smartwatch improves the interaction between the users and the watch. There is also much better support for third-party apps which was one of the negatives of the first smartwatch. It focuses a lot more on health and fitness tracking now. Series 2 smartwatch is waterproof, comes with GPS enabled as well as swim tracking capabilities. Overall, it is undoubtedly one of Top 6 smartwatches that you can buy right now. Asus Zenwatch 3Zenwatch 3 is completely different from the Zenwatch 2 in terms of looks and the overall feel. Zenwatch 2 came with a square watch face, which has been replaced with a more common, yet attractive circle watch face in the Zenwatch 3. It has some amazing features and is priced much lower than its competitors. The watch face is made of stainless steel and looks top-notch. Since it is a smartwatch, it is slightly thicker, but comes with an IP67 rating and a 340mAh battery. Zenwatch 3 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset and 512MB of RAM under the hood which is more than enough to power the 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 287 ppi, which is also the best display on a smartwatch. It can work as a fitness tracker as well as a stylish watch with plenty of watch dials to choose from. Tag Heuer ConnectedTag Heuer watches cost a fortune and same is the case with their Connected smartwatch. It starts at around $1,500 and goes all the way up to $3,100. It is also the most expensive Android Wear device to date surpassing the Gold Huawei Watch. After using it for two years, there is an option to trade the watch for a mechanical Tag Heuer watch. The best thing about the Connected smartwatch is its build quality and the detailed watch faces. Once you have a chance to wear it, you'll understand what I'm talking about. The watch feels so good in the hand and even though it is slightly chunky, it is extremely light due to the titanium construction. The watch faces have been intricately designed with so much attention to detail. The shadows under the hands, smooth movements and exquisite color combinations will just grab all the attention. Sony SmartWatch 3The Smartwatch 3 from Sony is the cheapest of the lot coming at around $160. It also has the least amount of features and is a good choice for those looking to buy their first smartwatch under strict budget constraints. The USP of the SmartWatch 3 is its GPS tracking capabilities which were pretty damn accurate. It comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and a 1.6-inch LCD display (with a resolution of 320×320). The display is not AMOLED which is slightly disappointing as sunlight legibility and maximum brightness is a bit on the lower side. Samsung Gear S3Priced 20$ below the Apple Watch Series 2, the Gear S3 was released little over a year after the Gear S2. It is one of the most unique smartwatches out there with a bezel that can be rotated for various functions. Gear S3 is powered by the Tizen OS and comes with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 360×360 pixels. The screen is absolutely magnificent and hats off to Samsung for creating it. The watch face is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ which has much-improved scratch and damage resistance. It is specially intended for watch faces with less reflection and better visibility as well. The Gear S3 comes in two models, Frontier and Classic. Huawei WatchHuawei Watch is regarded as one of the most luxurious and feature-rich smartwatches that you can buy. It is more expensive than the Apple Watch Series 2 and the Samsung Gear S3 at $399, but it is well worth it. The Gold Huawei Watch was the most expensive Android Wear smartwatch priced at almost $700, but that was surpassed by the Tag Heuer Connected. It had the best display for a smartwatch with a 1.4-inch 400×400 AMOLED display, but the latest Zenwatch 3 comes with a slightly higher pixel density. The watch is IP67 rated and has a Qualcomm processor coupled with 512M of RAM under the hood. |
You Won’t Believe How the Game of Thrones Kids & Cast Have Changed Through the Years (32 Photos) Posted: 12 Jan 2017 03:02 PM PST Image via: Dorkly Among the many remarkable things on Game of Thrones is its cast of children actors, grown (those who haven’t been killed off) into fine young gentlemen and ladies. It’s also quite incredible to see them grow up on camera over the years, with quite astounding changes. Image via: YouTube This is how Sansa Stark looked in the Pilot episode, which was broadcast in April 2011. Sophie Turner, the actress portraying her, was 15 at the time. Image via: Twitter This is her five years later. Sophie is 20, while her Sansa hasn’t just aged considerably, blossoming into a beautiful woman, but has also been through quite a lot. Image via: Twitter And if you were wondering, this is how Sophie Turner looks these days when she’s not on set. On to her Stark House sister, Arya. Image via: Twitter The second youngest in the Stark brood, Arya Stark is portrayed by Maisie Williams in the show, who was just under 14 when the first episode came out. Image via: Twitter And here she is quite a few years later, putting Walder Frey to the knife for his crimes. She’s closing in on 20 now. Image via: Twitter And this is a photo of her from about six months ago. Yep, it’s always weird to see kid actors grow into adults. And speaking of growing, here’s Bran. Image via: Twitter This is Isaac Hempstead Wright, portraying Bran Stark, who was only 12 at the time the pilot episode aired, which means he was much younger when it was filmed. He could still walk (the character) during the pilot episode. Image via: Twitter And here he is under a weirwood tree, all grown up, unable to walk, but much wiser, and capable of flying, sort of. And knowing everything about the past, and even capable of changing past events (???). Image via: Twitter And here he is in a much more geekier, grown up look. He’ll be 18 in a few months. And on to the youngest Stark in the show, Rickon. Image via: Twitter Rickon Stark is extremely young when the story kicks off, so it’s understandable his role isn’t very big, just like in the books. Art Parkinson, who remained the character’s actor throughout the six seasons, as only 9 when the pilot episode aired. Image via: Twitter Yep, he’s changed quite a lot over the years. This is him in the final episode (for him at least), moments before a Ramsay Bolton arrow finds him. Image via: Twitter These days, Art Parkinson is 15, and quite the busy actor. And from the Stark kids, we move on to another character that won’t be in the final episode because he’s, well, dead in the series: Joff. Image via: Twitter Now Jack Gleeson, who portrays Joffrey Baratheon, isn’t exactly a child actor. He was 18 when the pilot aired, acting a character a bit younger. He didn’t make it till season 6. Image via: Twitter His famous death scene came in season 4. He’s semi-retired from acting now, but that might change at some point. Image via: Twitter And from one Baratheon-Lannister to another one, who also got to wear a crown: Tommen. Image via: Twitter This is Callum Wharry, who plays Tommen Baratheon in seasons 1 and 2. From season 4, it became Dean-Charles Chapman’s job. Image via: Twitter Tommen jumps to his doom after Cersei destroys everyone who has ever hurt her, which means we probably won’t see Chapman on-screen again, unless it’s some flashback. Image via: Twitter He’s 19 now, and quite the busy actor. And Tommen isn’t the only Baratheon sibling to get an acting change during the series. We’ve seen two Myrcellas as well. Image via: Twitter The first Myrcella was Aimee Richardson, making appearances in seasons 1 and 2. Nell Tiger Free took the roll much later on, after three seasons of the character not appearing on screen. Just like the other Baratheon-Lannister kids, she hasn’t made it to where we are now. Image via: Twitter This is her a bit before the poison starts taking its toll. Image via: Twitter This is Nell Tiger Free when she isn’t in character. She’s 17 now. And from teenagers to those portraying them, Kit Harington did go through some physical changes since he made his debut on the show. Image via: Twitter When he first appeared as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, Harington was 24, although he has the face that makes him look a lot younger. Image via: Twitter Five years later, and the signs of death and battles are on him. (Both Snow and Harington) Image via: Twitter In real life, Harington has an on-off relationship with Rose Leslie, his co-star on Game of Thrones (for a while), portraying the wildling Ygritte. Image via: Twitter Alfie Allen is 30 today, like Harington. He was 24 when the show began, portraying the smug and still flawless Theon Greyjoy. Image via: Twitter After spending some time in Ramsay’s dungeon and then escaping Winterfell, this is the result. He’s looked worse. Image via: Twitter Awkward. Image via: Twitter Before she was Khaleesi, she was Daenerys Targaryen. Before Khal Drogo, before the dragons. Emilia Clarke who portrays Dany is 30 now, and was 24 when the show began. Image via: Twitter Here she is, finally heading towards Westeros. Who knows if she’ll actually get there. Image via: Twitter I kinda dig her non-blonde real life look. Image via: Twitter We close with Sansa, Arya and Bran, in real life. Hopefully (Bran & Arya are my favorite characters in the books) their characters make it to the very end. |
