MWC 2015 is over, and we saw many incredible gadgets pop up in it – but there’s so many some incredible ones like Saygus V2 slipped through the cracks. We aim to fix that situation.

The Saygus V2′s tagline is pretty eye catching. If you’ve never heard of it, let us introduce the so called “most complete smartphone in the world”, straight from Mobile World Congress 2015.

This device was created by Saygus, and sports a sturdy build along with surprisingly good specs for a upper-mid range phone. These are:

  • Snapdragon 801 Processor at 2.5GHz
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 5 inches screen capable of 1080p (445ppi) with Gorilla Glass 4
  • 64 GB storage, which can be expanded with cards up to 256 GB on each of its 2 slots
  • Wireless HD
  • 21 MP back camera, with optical stabilization
  • 13 MP front camera
  • Wireless charging
  • Biometric scanner for fingerprints
  • MicroUSB 3.0 with MHL & HDMI
  • 67 x 137 x 9.7mm and 141 grams of weight
  • NFC
  • LTE
  • Waterproof
  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat, can be updated to Lollipop

Saygus spent several years creating the Saygus V2, and took inspiration from several car models to tailor the way it looks. This device will come out with a price tag of $599  USD (for a 64 GB storage version), which is rather cheaper than the latest Samsung with similar specs… Could a new challenger be approaching?

Briefcase doubles as bullet-proof shield

You never know what might end up saving your life, but this laptop  bag slash briefcase might be it, as it is can become a personal bulletproof shield.

Bags and briefcases have more uses than carrying around your papers, gadgets and gear: they also can stop bullets. At least that’s the case with the MTS Multi-Threat Shield briefcase, a bag designed to be able to protect the user from a variety of weapons including bullets or knives by doubling into a three-foot long shield.

Be aware: this is a heavy gadget, at 8 pounds when empty, but if you really place security and safety higher than anything else, this is a no brainer. MTS can stop several impacts from handguns, shotguns, and pistol caliber sub-machine guns, and even some high-powered rifles thanks to an extra armor add-on (that adds more weight on top, so you can find your own balance).

Acquiring the MTS Multi-Threat Shield bag is going to set you back some $900 USD, but if you’re so concerned about getting shot that you’d consider getting a bag like this, there just aren’t many options. It’s also cheaper than a bodyguard, on top, and you won’t have to console the bag’s family after if passes away protecting you, so find some peace of mind with that.

iTunes and App Store Down for 11 Hours; Apple Loses $2.3 Million an Hour

After Apple’s digital marketplaces, iTunes and the App Store, went down yesterday, the company lost over $2.3 million an hour.

Thursday was a total nightmare for everyone with an Apple product as all of Apple’s digital marketplaces experienced heavy outages. For approximately 11 hours, iTunes and the App Store were both unavailable, even the Mac App Store and the iBooks Store were down. For this duration, the millions of people around the world who own Apple products were unable to buy songs, music, books or any other digital content. In short, it was a total disaster.

So why were all of Apple’s services down? The company explained in the following statement that it was down to a DNS (Domain Name Server) error:

“We apologise to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning. The cause was an internal DNS [domain name system] error at Apple. We’re working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience.”

Never mind that this is a PR nightmare for the company as one of the smartest technological companies on the planet can’t fix a problem like this quickly but it also had serious financial ramifications for the company. According to calculations by the International Business Times, for every single hour that Apple’s digital storefronts were down, the company lost just over $2.3 million. Multiply that by 11 and Apple incurred losses of $25 million altogether.

For Apple, this is just a drop of water in the ocean. Not only is the company the richest one on the planet right now but it also has around $120 billion saved up so losses of $25 million are nothing to them. This is perhaps a bit more worrying for the content creators who depend on these stores for their income but perhaps Apple will do them a solid and will reimburse them.
