Sleep in a Bubble: French Hotel Made of Transparent Tents Posted: 27 Jan 2013 10:00 AM PST Enjoy uninterrupted views of the French countryside while remaining protected from the elements in these fun transparent dome tents at the Attrap’Rêves Bubble hotels. One translucent hut can be yours for the night in Bouches-du-Rhone or Loir-et-Cher, France, for a camping adventure that’s a bit more glamorous than setting up your own cot and nylon tent in the woods. Designed by Pierre Stéphane, the bubble tents are about thirteen feet in diameter and range from fully transparent to half-opaque with a clear ‘skylight’ open to the stars, depending on your desire for view versus privacy. You may also choose between a regular-sized tent, or a suite, which has an additional room. All of the bubbles are equipped with a queen-sized bed, a cafe table, a telescope and a star chart. A range of package choices add extra luxuries like champagne, jacuzzi sessions and a little French cuisine. Locations include pine forests, fields and hilly wine country. Placed on platforms, surrounded by trees, these transparent tents make you feel almost as connected to nature as if you were simply sleeping in the open air, without worrying about sharing your bed with bugs. |
