Ever Wonder How Much Luxury Home $50 Million Can Buy?

At $2500 square feet, there is one thing this Spanish hilltop villa is counting on to land it a big buyer on Sotheby’s: location, location and … did we mention location?

From the listing: “Cielo de Bonaire enjoys the privilege of being one of the premier properties in Mallorca, due to its outstanding location on a hillside between the bays of Alcúdia and Pollensa and some of the best panoramic views to be enjoyed here on the island.”

While the architecture is not unimpressive, it still seems somehow amazing that this mansion – as expansive as it is – can attempt to command such a price. But look at the landscaped layers leading up to the main structures and you might start to see the appeal … at least for someone who has the pocketbook to afford it.

Teeter Totter for One? Long Cantilevered Lounge Chair

The natural flexibility of wood leads some designers to play up its malleability visually and functionally, as with this elongated lounge chair design.

Jung Myung Taek used strips of dark walnut with exposed screws to emphasize the critical intersection of base and seat at the tip of the object, originally exhibited in Tent London then Basel, Switzerland.

Whatever sense of austerity and minimalism are conveyed by the materials and finishes, though, are also offset by the cartoon-like elongation of the shape as a whole – not to mention the smile the designer is clearly trying to hide in his picture.
