Skate Villa: Skateboard-Friendly Hunting Lodge Conversion Posted: 24 Sep 2012 10:00 AM PDT [ Filed under Conversions & in the Architecture category ] In the spirit of another skateboard-friendly house, this dwelling by pro-boarder Philipp Schuster goes a step further by integrating skateable surfaces into an existing space. What started as a quaint and remote hunting retreat in Salzburg, Germany, has become a miniature indoor skate park, complete with many of original-looking obstacles, er, furnishings that were there before this intervention. After stripping out the parts already falling apart, Schuster reintegrated traditional elements that fit the typology of a rural German residence, but woven together with new ramps and bumps for skateboarding throughout.
