Skylight Deck: Innovative Windows Create Juliet Balconies Posted: 04 Sep 2012 10:00 AM PDT [ Filed under Patios & Decks & in the Interiors category ] Anyone who has lived (or does) in Europe will appreciate the multi-functional possibilities of typical windows, able to fold out like doors or flip down for ventilation while maintaining security. This design by Fakro takes the concept concept to the next level – specifically, on your angled rooftop – creating more space and the feel of an exterior deck. The top flips up to form an overhang, while the bottom folds out to let you walk right up to the edge and essentially stand outside. Particularly considering how much space a sloped ceiling can take up, it could be a marvelous addition to many second-story bedrooms and living rooms. No Book Ends: Modular Leaning Bookcase & Room Divider Posted: 03 Sep 2012 04:00 PM PDT [ Filed under Furniture & in the Bookcases category ] A little tilt means an end to bookends with this lightweight and flexible storage solution, as gravity takes over and leans each volume against another. Nitzan Cohen‘s design makes each module a stand-alone element, able to be configured as desired – including a choice between sleek black or a Pantone-like spectrum spanning a range of palettes. But it goes beyond that as well: each book or binder is as flexible as the storage system – pull one out and you do not need to move your bookends back together to fill the void, as the next book(s) will naturally fall back into place. A neat system, in more ways than one. [ Filed under Furniture & in the Bookcases category ] [ Dornob | Archives | Categories | Privacy | TOS ] |
