The Flight House from Sage Architecture is a mid-century modern interpretation of a vacation cabin in the woods. The name of the home is derived from both its purpose and its appearance. Lucky Cats: Super Fan Gets Tolkien-Themed Kitty Furniture Posted: 22 Dec 2014 02:00 PM PST Tim Baker is a talented artist who creates incredibly realistic props and special effects makeup. For the second episode of his new web series, Super-Fan Builds, Baker and his team made one Tolkien fan a very happy guy by creating a hobbit hole litter box and Eye of Sauron scratching post. Segmented SF House Becomes a Secluded Nature-Loving Pad Posted: 22 Dec 2014 08:00 AM PST This oddly-situated home in San Francisco's Mission District is a singularly fantastic demonstration of creative reuse. The site once housed a dry cleaner and during WWII served as a munitions bunker. It passed through various hands and underwent plenty of (not entirely up to city code) renovations. In 2011, the home was foreclosed on and the new owner decided to bring it up to code and make it into something fantastic. Read more… |
