Mars Levitating Bluetooth Speaker Offers Great 360-Degree Sound Posted: 05 Dec 2014 09:07 AM PST If intelligent design and great sound quality are two of the things you’re looking for in a Bluetooth speaker, then CrazyBaby’s Mars may be just your thing. Founded in May 2013 by Allen Zhang and Linda Zhao, CrazyBaby made a purpose out of reinventing Bluetooth speakers. Of course, to come up with something new, this company had to create an innovative design, and to make sure that the functionality is redefined, as well. Obviously, sound quality had to be great, to qualify in a world where the number of Bluetooth speakers is ever growing. Gadgets that levitate are anything but new, and by now, most people are aware that the trick is achieved using magnets. Should you want to use Mars in the great outdoors, you’ll be glad to know it fits in your pocket and it attaches to metallic things (such as your bike) using the very same magnet. CrazyBaby must have thought that Mars will be used when trekking. Otherwise I don’t know why they would have made the Bluetooth speaker waterproof. Not that I’m complaining, this is a neat feature that should really be implemented by any and all gadget manufacturers out there. Mars will do as fine in the office as it does in the outdoors. As a matter of fact, it has the potential of replacing many audio conference systems, and its ability of dispersing sound 360-degrees enables all participants to hear the other side perfectly clear. The speaker is available in black and white. As far as its battery life is concerned, it should last around 8 hours, so charging it overnight would be a great idea. It makes a great trip companion, as well as a trustworthy business partner, so it doesn’t really matter how you’re willing to use it, as it performs great in all environments. CrazyBaby is running a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, where backers have already pledged more than twice the $100K funding goal, even though at the time of writing there were still 28 more days to go. Backing the project with $169 will get you a Mars levitating Bluetooth speaker in April 2015, and you also have the option of paying $329 for a pair.
I don’t want to cast a shadow on this product, as I really think Mars is great, but in my opinion, audio and video equipment should be tested in person, as everyone perceives these very differently from the person standing next to them. Analogue Introducing Vintage Wood-Made Neo Geo Console Posted: 05 Dec 2014 06:00 AM PST The arcade fun of the Neo Geo meets the antique stylings of this lovely looking home console.
The Analogue NEO is a handcrafted console version of the Neo Geo MVS (Multiple Cart System), an arcade machine fondly remember for it's big red cabinet and – as the MVS name describes – hosted a round of selectable SNK games, which arcade owners could interchange for other carts via a simplified slot-inserting system. Analogue, who have ventured into the high-end retro console field – a field they currently share alone – with the NES/Famicom-playing Analogue Nt, has reimagined the monolithic arcade cabinet into lo-fi masterpiece that can easily sit on a mantle. The rectangular console is made from 100% ash wood and finished through a process of ebonizing. Basically, the end result is a beautiful console complete with the ability to play the full library of SNK games (you can even use the original MVS memory cards that were made for the system) on a high-def television or if you're a true purest, through a CRT monitor like the good old days. The NEO even includes the iconic rainbow-colored four-button layout that most Neo Geo machines fashioned proudly since their introduction in the early 1990s. Analogue will be producing a limited run of 20 NEOs, individually numbered and signed, that will be shipped to your door front just in time for Christmas. Price? $1499 USD. Not surprising for something in a limited run and made from quality craftsmanship. Be social! Follow Walyou on Facebook and Twitter! Samsung’s thinnest smartphone, the Galaxy A7 might be close to launch Posted: 05 Dec 2014 04:00 AM PST Samsung’s A7, rumored to be the company’s thinnest smartphone to date is coming close to its release date. The last few days have seen several reliable (sort of, kind of, like any leak) rumors that claim Samsung’s new Galaxy A7 is going to be extremely thin, at mere 6.3 mm, even thiner than the Galaxy Alpha which currently held the record. This data comes from Chinese regulatory approval details spotted by Phone Arena and the CNET teams. But the news don’t stop at its purported size, as Phone Arena also did quite a job revealing the hardware details. The Galaxy A7 will be running Android 4.4.4 KitKat, on a 5.5-inch 1,080p display. Also, it will be equipped with two cameras, one at 12-megapixel and another at 5-megapixel in the back and front respectively. The specs so far look great too, with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz octa-core processor and 2GB RAM, with 16GB of internal storage making it roughly an equivalent of the Nexus 5 or Moto X. It remains to be seen whether this model is going to be sold only in China, or Samsung will bring it overseas to other markets. Be social!
