What makes a water filter sustainable? According to the people at Soma, it means no plastic, no chemicals and a filter that is completely organic, made of a coconut shell carbon and a plant-based casing. The filter material starts out as coconut shells whose carbon granules are heat-treated to become porous and super absorbent to catch chemicals such as chlorine and remove bad taste and odors.
