Subtle Bookcase Illusion

If you’re a book worm like I am, you know the frustration of overflowing bookcases. That’s the trouble I’m looking at right now. Again. The better half thinks I should pare down my book collection again, but I can’t bear to part with any more of my collection, so I’m looking for yet another new bookcase. I’m wondering whether to my smaller bookcases or spring for one large bookcase. I’m thinking one large bookcase would be the best option since It would be the best use of space.

Anyway, you’re probably wondering why I’m babbling on about what type of bookcase I’m after, huh? Well, when shopping around for bookcases, I ran across a couple of pretty cool bookcases, one of them being a bookcase illusion! And, of course, anything illusiony would be perfect for me!

This bookcase illusion is one of those “when you see it” type of things. Take a look…

And here’s an image with the bookcase full of books…

Were you able to spot this bookcase illusion right off the bat? Or did it take you a moment to notice it? It actually took me a few moments to see the illusion, but once you see it, it’s hard to unsee it!

I really would love to have an illusion bookcase like this! It would probably mess with people’s heads a little when they come to visit! I’m thinking that it really wouldn’t be all that difficult to make either, and you might be able to tweak an already made bookcase with some pieces of lumber and paint,

What did you think about this bookcase illusion? How would you decorate a room with this bookcase? I personally think this love seat would fit nicely with it!
