Protect Your Identity with the HuMn RFID Mini Wallet Posted: 17 Dec 2015 11:48 AM PST Contactless identity and credit cards are undeniably more convenient than their older counterparts, but by using them people expose themselves to what is known as identity theft. HuMn, an RFID mini wallet that is currently available on Walyou Deals at a discounted price, can give you some peace of mind, as it protects your cards and ID from RFID readers. Contactless smart cards and IDs require the reader to be at a very small distance for the data to be picked up. However, that hasn’t stopped numerous hackers out there from stealing credit card numbers and identities. Thus far, the only way to keep them away from your sensitive data remains to block the radio frequency-emitting cards from being intercepted by using certain materials. This is exactly the principle on which the HuMn mini wallet is based. In terms of design, the HuMn (which I assume is supposed to sound like “human,” while also bringing – non-existent – chemical elements to mind) is very sleek and minimalistic. Basically, the wallet is made out of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum that’s power-coated with a durable matte black finish. The straps keeping the cards and the aluminum plates together are made of polyurethane rubber that’s extremely durable and can maintain its elasticity for a very long time. Those materials, coupled with the small dimensions of just 3.8″L × 0.1″W × 2.53″H, make the wallet extremely lightweight, as it tops the scale at 1.6 ounces. Regarding the dimensions, the wallet is slightly larger than a credit card, so it will fit without any problems in your jeans or shirt pocket. It’s those aluminum plates that protect your contactless smart cards from being RFID skimmed by evil hackers. That’s everything you need to become invulnerable to identity thieves. Now that most things can be paid using a credit card (and it looks like we’ll ditch those, too, for our phones in the near future), there’s really no need to carry a lot of cash with you. Still, if you need to do it, HuMn can accommodate several bills, along with a few credit and loyalty cards. To minimize the thickness of the wallet even more, you can leave the loyalty cards at home, while making sure that you stored the details of each one of them in a mobile apps. There are plenty of alternatives for Android, iOS and even Windows Phone, so there’s really no reason to carry those around anymore. Originally, the HuMn RFID mini wallet costs $59, but within the next three days, you can get it in our store, Walyou Deals, for just $36.99, which is 37% off. Keep in mind that it can only be shipped to continental US only, and that the item should be delivered between December 29 and January 1. Anyone concerned about the safety of their sensitive data shouldn’t think twice before finding a way to protect it, and the HuMN RFID wallet is definitely an affordable way of achieving that. Swing Copters 2: The New Game From The Flappy Bird Developer Posted: 17 Dec 2015 11:41 AM PST Infamous Flappy Bird developers Dotgears are back with a new game titled Swing Copters 2, which is releasing today on Android!
Picture Via Droidgamers Remember early 2013 when Flappy Bird took the world over-night and it seemed all people could talk about was that? The infamous team behind one of the most addictive games of all time, which in turn sparked an endless amount of clones and copycats who attempted to recreate the formula, are now back with a new project dubbed Swing Copters 2. This game is a sequel to their previous Swing Copters, and has all of the style marks that made Dotgears games such a huge hit among the mobile gaming community. These games all appear to be incredibly easy as they only require one button to control, but hide an incredible of difficulty under the surface – death inevitably comes, and comes fast. Luckily, there are basically no loading screens, and you can jump back into the game right away which only makes it even more maddening, as you’ll grow obsessed with it in no time. That’s exactly what a mobile game should do anyways, right? In Swing Copters 2 Dotgears are keeping much of their iconic pixel-art style, and the one-touch does everything interface which makes their games so simple yet so enraging when we fail. Just like the previous entry of the Swing Copters series, players will control one character wearing a head-mounted helicopter system as if it was a regular cap, and players have to tap to the sides to help him avoid obstacles and change directions because there are some mighty hammers spinning all throughout the stages. Of course, one hit kills you, but you have infinite lives to overcome that non-issue. Unlike Flappy Bird, this game features some characterization and story, with many playable characters (Spinki, Fabi, and Pinki) who have to now face the hurdles of adulthood and get real jobs. What’s more, each description goes into great detail so you get to know and care for these characters, and you can read all about it in the Swing Copters 2 official website. Just like Swing Copters and Flappy Bird, Swing Copters 2 is completely free and can be downloaded from many places such as the Play Store or Amazon. Via: Droidgamers Be social! Video Games Are For Everyone, but Not Everyone Agrees Posted: 16 Dec 2015 02:58 PM PST If you think more people in your life have picked up the habit of playing video games in any kind of form, you’re not wrong according to a recent survey regarding Americans and video games. The Pew Research Center survey found that just under 49% of Americans say they at least occasionally play some form of video game on a computer, TV, tablet or cellphone. However, as for the label of gamer, only 10% of them identified as one. Another interesting number from the survey is the gender issue, which was a hot topic this year, although not for good reasons. The study found that 50% of men and 48% of women have played a video game occasionally or more. However, 60% of Americans believe that most people who play video games are men, a view shared by 57% of the women who play video games. Men are more likely to call themselves gamers: 15% to 6%. But while it seems more and more people are playing video games, the public’s view on this pass time, hobby or even profession, remains divided. There are 40% of Americans who believe that there is a relationship between video game violence and violent behavior, while 32% of those who play video games make the connection as well. Women (47%) tend to agree a lot more than men (31%) that playing violent video games is more likely to lead to real life violence. For the full Pew Research Center report, which has a lot more interesting points, check out their website. Image via tinydeal.com |

How to avoid Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens Spoilers Posted: 16 Dec 2015 12:50 PM PST This week is critical for Star Wars fans, as Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is launching around the globe. Here’s our quick guide on how to avoid those pesky spoilers! The release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is a huge event for geeks around the world, and even not-so-geeky people too. This movie has been discussed throughout the year, and all things considered, we must give props to everyone at Lucasfilm and Disney for keeping the details on the movie plot so vague for all of us, something the creators of Batman V Superman could learn from. Still, the movie has already started showing in some locations, and now is when being on the internet and checking news websites starts getting dangerous. We still want to get to the movie as unspoiled as possible, and there are a few things you can do in order to do that, which don’t include staying away from the internet for however long it takes for you to see the movie. Chrome users have available a variety of extensions they can use to protect themselves while browsing their favorite news websites. Some of those are Spoiler Alert, where you can set up a filter for everything related to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, or a much more focused Star Wars Spoiler Blocker, which is really agressive but good at what it does. There’s even a third app called Unspoiler, that stretches its effort to social media such as Facebook and Twitter, all the while preserving the browsing experience intact. What makes Unspoiler really cool, though, is that you can “save” the spoiler and open it back again once you’ve seen the movie, so you don’t miss anything. Picture via CNET By its very nature, Social Media is a bit trickier – Unspoiler is fantastic at taking care of things, but it it’s only social media you’re worried about, there’s a really cool tool called F.B. Purity, a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and other browsers that lets you filter out key terms. This is even useful once you’ve seen the movie, as you could use it in the future to block a political candidate, or anything else getting on your nerves. When it comes to Star Wars spoilers, though, all you need to do is input the proper terms in the Text Filter field, and this content will be removed from your newsfeed. The extension will display on top how many posts it has removed so far, and let you toggle between showing or hiding. And while this is all very cool, most of these extensions only help those of us who are on desktop computers, so what about mobiles? TweetBot 4 app can be used for Twitter, and is an amazing tool, while on PC you can repeat the feat in TweetDeck. You can even mute complete hashtags such as #starwars, #theforceawakens or whatever else you want. Facebook mobile, though, you might still want to avoid. Via: CNET Be social!
