24K Gold NES To Celebrate Zelda’s 30th Anniversary

A 24K Gold NES To Celebrate Zelda's 30th Anniversary

It was 30 years ago when we first met Link and in the debut of The Legend of Zelda. There are plenty of ways to celebrate the anniversary. One of them is a 24k Gold NES. Not flashy at all.

Analogue, who have the Analogue Nt, which is the closest you’ll get to an actual, original Nintendo system, are bringing out their flashiest edition yet. They’re dipping each piece of the Analogue Nt’s aluminum enclosure in gold from every possible direction, and hand polishing for the nice, shiny look we expect when we’re getting something authentic and gold.

The inside of the machine hasn’t been forgotten, having every unit sporting a transparent baseplate, so you can see exactly how the Analogue Nt is inside. And of course, the crown jewel and the reason for all this grandeur: The Legend of Zelda original gold colored cartridge.

For those willing to pay the $4999 for this truly magnificent piece of gaming machinery that also celebrates one of the most important and still popular video games of all time, you have to be quick: There are only ten units being made.

And remember, there’s a new game coming out this year to celebrate the 30-year anniversary, although right now it’s only available for pre-order.

DIY Cute Pokemon Cream Plush Toys

pokemon Cream Plush toys fanart

Pokemon are cute (most of them at least), but as plush toys in ice cream cone shape? That’s an overload of sugar in your veins.

A wonderful project by Deviantart artist Ambur, it takes Pokemon such as Eevee, Flare, Vapore, Jolte and others and turns them from little pocket monsters who fight each other for a living and turns them into plush toys: Cute, cuddly little dolls that look like the tastiest and most colorful cones of ice cream you have ever laid your eyes on.

The plush toys are made out of Minky, Felt, Poly-fil, and Batting. here are crystals for eye highlights and seed beads on top as sprinkles. Pretty soon, according to the artist, they’ll be on sale.

They’re based on a pattern of bear plush toys (As seen in the photos above) while the Fabric comes from spoonflower.

For those who want to use Pokemon for what they were meant to be – battle while flying out of pockets, you can still do it with plush toys too. It’s actually less riskier. But when there’s such a cute little expression resting on an ice cream cone, all you want to do is hug them as tight as possible, and keep them away from the dog. It’ll get destroyed, or conquered forever by the four legged beasts.

Yes Please! R2-D2 Architectural Desk Lamp

R2-D2 Architectural Desk Lamp

I think it’s safe to say that R2D2 is my favorite droid. Everytime I see themed R2D2 products there’s something inside of me that just screams “WANT”, and this lamp is no different.

This lamp was released only yesterday by ThinkGeek and it’s already getting lots of attention. This officially-licensed Star Wars merchandise lamp can be adjusted to any situation while shedding light on whatever you need, just like actual R2D2. One bummers that this lamp doesn’t make any noises so you’ll need to do the sound effects yourself. Ever if you don’t need another desk lamp I’m sure you’re just itching inside to replace your current one with the blue-white droid version.

The lamp obviously comes rocking all of R2D2 trademarks and colors. It also includes a 60-inch cord with an inline power switch, and uses 40-watt bulbs. Looks like Star Wars meets Pixar ha? It’s a pretty good image of how that would look like. A great addition to your R2D2 or Star Wars collection, it’s available on ThinkGeek for $59.99.

Adorable Pokemon crochets 1

Pokemon look great no matter the design or the material, so it’s no wonder the Pokemon Crochets by Johnny Reigh Navarro are so wonderful to look at.

What is Crochet, exactly? Well, is a process of creating fabric by interlocking loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other materials using a crochet hook. Knitting, right? No. The difference between crochet and knitting, beyond the implements used for their production, is that each stitch in crochet is completed before proceeding with the next one, while knitting keeps a large number of stitches open at a time.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, a little bit of info on these Pokemon Crochet creations made by Instagram user heartstringcrochet, selling these wonderful creations through the site. Just be warned: Not everything on the Instagram feed is Pokemon Crochet, although most of it is.

Why knit, I mean crochet, the likes of Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and others? Well, if you’ve ever tried Crochet, it’s incredibly relaxing and once you get the hang of it, it’s not just fun doing it, it’s incredibly fulfilling seeing a complete piece of work. For those who can’t (like me), getting to watch such projects of creating Pokemon crochet creations is as close that we’ll ever get.
