13 Amazing Anime Shirts For Geeks

Posted: 14 Dec 2015 12:21 AM PST

anime t shirts

Although it’s becoming more popular each day, it seems getting a cool anime t-shirt is still a daunting task. Fear not, though, for here’s the Walyou team to help you.

it’s 2016 and most of the geek world has officially embraced anime as a legitimate, interesting and really cool art form with its own quirks. The genre is growing, and we’re getting official releases with most of the huge productions on this side of the ocean not too far apart from Japan. Despite all this, it is surprisingly hard to find cool anime shirts, just as they exist for any other medium like video games and TV shows: most of them are just tacky, and we wouldn’t want to be seen in public wearing them. Luckily, good shirts exist, and you just need to know where to look for them – and this is what we want to help you with on this list. Here are some of our favorite shirts inspired by anime.

Men’s Anime Shirt

Dragon Ball Z Shirt

With the theatrical release of the last Dragon Ball Z movie, Resurrection F, and the imminent overseas release of Dragon Ball Super, it’s safe to say Dragon Ball is back and that it’s still as cool as ever. A new show means a whole new set of power levels, and so have some of the Saiyans (so far) acquired new transformations like Super Saiyan God, or as some people prefer to call it, Super Saiyan Blue. The Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ Super Saiyan God SS Goku T-Shirt comes in all sizes: X-small, small, medium, large and X-large and costs in between $20.50 and $25.45. In case you’re more of a Vegeta kind of guy/gal, there’s also a shirt featuring him.

Full Metal Alchemist Shirt

It’s been a few years since Full Metal Alchemist ended, and we miss it a lot. The adventures of Edward and Alphonse Elric was full of epic moments and fantastic battles, but at its core was always about adventure which this Fullmetal Alchemist #TeamElric T-Shirt celebrates. This shirt comes in sizes X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large and 2X-Large and costs just under $28 USD.

Robotech Battloid Anime Shirt

Many stories have been told about Robotech, a combination of three Japanese shows that we got to know in the 80s. Its first generation, based on Macross, is still a beloved classic among many geeks and its mechas (mainly the Battloid) have become some of the most recognizable faces in all the world of anime. This Robotech Battloid shirt for men comes in sizes M all the way to 5XL, and costs $20 USD.

Attack on Titan Shirt

Attack on Titan took the world by storm, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about manga and anime on the Internet. The cool thing about the show is that, by featuring the story of the Recon Corps, just the logo is enough to inspire a fantastic t-Shirt that is both tasteful and cool. The Attack On Titan Survey Corps Mens T-shirt comes in sizes from X-small to XX-Large and can cost up to $26 USD.

Evangelion Shirt

A lot us, older folk, started watching anime by the time Evangelion hit it big, so we hold it in a very dear place in our hearts. This Neon Genesis Evangelion: Shogouki EVA-01 Black T-Shirt features the Eva-01 creeping from the dark and comes in sizes small, medium, large, and x-large with prices ranging from $18.98 to $22.95.

Naruto Shippuden Shirt

Naruto has become one of the longest running shonen ever, and ended just about a year ago in 2014. This show is still remembered as one of the greatest action and adventure series and has many fans throughout the globe – which is why we wanted to recommend this Naruto Shippuden shirt featuring its lead character, Naruto Uzumaki. This shirt comes in sizes S and L, and cots $22 USD.

Kill la Kill Shirt

Main character Ryuko Matoi stars this spectacular Kill La Kill Teenagers T-shirt, donning senketsu in its most traditional form. The shirt comes all kind of sizes, just be sure to talk with the sellers beforehand as they are custom made to get the right fit.

Women’s Anime T-Shirts

Puella Magi Madoka Magica Shirt

Although Puella Magi Madoka Magica only released a couple years ago, it has quickly become a mainstream hit among both guys and girls. This shirt, though, it’s for the ladies and features the entire cast of magical girls from the show. The Puella Magi Madoka Magica Shirt costs $25.95 and comes in small and large sizes.

One Piece Shirt

One Piece, almost universally considered “the king shonen”, is probably the most watched anime in the world right now with a long-running TV show that is about to reach 800 episodes and a lovable cast of characters that everybody loves. Still, our favorite character is protagonist Monkey D. Luffy who stars this One Piece: Chibi Luffy and Flag shirt for girls. It comes in small, large and X-large sizes, and costs $18.99.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Shirt

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann quickly became one of our favorite anime since the first time we saw it thanks to a lovable cast of characters with strong, hilarious personalities, and amazing robots that just keep getting bigger and bigger with each single episode. This Gurren Lagann T-Shirt Funny features the two main characters, Simon and Kamina posing for the picture, and although we’re showing the version for girls, there’s also another one for guys here, both just under $25 USD.

Sailor Moon Shirt

Sailor Moon is one of those eternal classics, and many girls and boys’ first anime ever. This Women’s Sailor Moon T-Shirt features all of the classic cast we came to know and love from the first few seasons. It comes in all sizes from Small to XX-Large, and is currently on sale at almost half-price, at $23.59.

Anime Hoodies

Attack on Titan Anime Hoodie

We already showed you a pretty neat Attack on Titan shirt above with a very similar design, but for whatever reason, we much prefer this hoodie version. The Attack on Titan Hoodie also features the recon corps logo, and comes in sizes from S to 2XL, and costs $52 USD.

Dragon Ball Z Hoodie

Become a student of the Kame fighting school under Muttenroshi sporting this Dragon Ball Z hoodie featuring the turtle logo, the more traditional one Goku has used throughout most of the series. The Dragon Ball Z hoodie comes in sizes small to XX-Large and costs up to $30.38.

10 LED Lightsabers For Star Wars Fans

Posted: 13 Dec 2015 02:10 PM PST

10 Led Lightsabers Star Wars 1

Star Wars’ most iconic weapon, the Lightsaber has come and gone in many shapes and forms as a collectible, but we’re partial to LED Lighstabers. See some really clever depictions in this story!

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is dropping really soon, so the Star Wars hype is through the roof. If you want to be the coolest guy or gal at the movie theater once it finally launches, you might as well be carrying some props, and this is where the LED Lightsabers in this story fit it. These aren’t necessarily toy lightsabers, but actual LED tubes that light up in some of the most iconic colors from the movies. Be careful, though, they’re kind of frail and more for show than for deflecting lasers and piercing Storm Troopers!

The Menace CE Lightsaber

The LED lightsaber depicted here is one of the most elegant creations we have seen around the web. This Star Wars Lightsaber replica features an exquisite craftmanship at the hilt, with several details taken straight from the movies. This model is inspired by Darth Maul’s Lightsaber and hence features its characteristic organe glow of the Dark Side. If you feel closer to the Sith than the Jedi, this is the Lightsaber for you.

REBORN DT Custom LED Saber from KOTOR

The Star Wars expanded universe is surprisingly huge, deep and full of lore to explore. One of the best adventures outside the main movies comes straight from the Knights of the Old Republic video game series, and it’s main character Revan’s light saber who inspired this amazing custom design. Because Revan can have any alignment the player desires (Light Side, Dark Side or kind of neutral), this custom saber can switch colors and offer alternatives for the user.

The Azure Omen: A Thundercats Themed Lightsaber

We absolutely love franchise crossing, and when we first saw this amazing design that mixed both the iconic lightsabers from the Star Wars movies with Lion-O’s Sword of Omens from Thundercats, we decided we had to share it with everyone. The Azure Omen is both a playful tribute and an incredibly cool custom made sword that lights up, features the Thundercats logo and reuses the iconic hilt design from the hit cartoon show from the 80s.

Maxx Action Galactic Series Photon Sabers

The Maxx Action Galactic Series Photon Sabers is a very vanilla alternative for those who would rather get the more traditional designs. This is a very cheap alternative for a quick costume, and although it’s completely made out of plastic, it is extremely cheap, and still ights up and features the characteristic sound effect that accompanies each swing that can be activated with the press of a button.

Star Wars Anakin to Darth Vader Lightsaber

Here is a really cool concept for those who love the old trilogy as much as the prequels and consider the transition of Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader one of the most important stories ever told in the geek world. This LED Lightsaber‘s special trait is that, depending on the wearer’s alignment and preference, it can change colors with the flick of a switch. Now you get to pick whether you prefer to side with the light side or dark side on the spot, which is particularly neat if you are into cosplay.

Star Wars Force FX Lightsabers

This is the real deal. As Obi-Wan Kenobi put it in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, this is an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. With some 30 years of movie history the Lightsabers have become one of the most recognizable weapons in the geek world, and the Star Wars Force FX Lightsaber is one of the few officially licensed versions of it. You get to pick between the blue or green versions, which come with “Force FX”, that is, the capability of accurately reproducing the light and sound effects from the films.

Bladebuilders Star Wars Episode 7 Jedi Master Lightsaber

The Bladebuilders Star Wars Episode 7 Jedi Master Lightsaber is a Padawan’s dream come true. Although more on the toy lightsaber end of the spectrum, this set will allow anyone to build their own custom lightsaber featuring as many or as little “blades” as they want, with interchangeable colors and everything. It’s not only a Jedi weapon, but a tool for self-expression too.

Light Up Laser Lightsaber Sabre Sword 29″ (3 PACK)

This is very straight-forward. What you see here is a Light Up Laser Lightsaber Sabre Sword 29″ 3 pack that features one lightsaber of each color: green, blue, and red. The size is particularly cool, as it’s long enough so it can also be a prop for adults.

Star Wars Ezra Bridger Lightsaber Blaster

This beauty was inspired by Ezra Bridger’s iconic weapon from the Star Wars Rebels TV Show, and is meant for children who like the show. The Star Wars Ezra Bridger Lightsaber Blaster features a blade that extends with a switch, which is fantastic for play, and is quite cheap at only $34.99 – this would definitely make a fantastic Christmas present for the young Padawan in the family.

Custom Star Wars Rebels Kanan Jarrus Lightsaber

The blade you see here is inspired by former Padawan and order 66 survivor Kanan Jarrus, from the Star Wars Rebels TV show. This lightsaber is made from Aircraft Grade Aluminum and is 13″ Long. It comes with a super bright Luxeon LED, and whoever buys it gets to pick the color (either red, blue, green or white. It runs on 2 AAA Batteries and fits any 1″ Diameter Blade.

Star Wars Characters Reimagined as Menacing Cars

Posted: 13 Dec 2015 12:58 PM PST

Star Wars Character Cars 01

The launch of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is a few days away, and UK-based online shop Carwow thought this would be a great occasion for reimagining some of the space saga’s most iconic characters as cars.

There’s plenty of Star Wars merchandise going around these days, and while the follow cars aren’t for sale, I’m sure that many wealthy fans of the saga would buy them if they were. It’s great to see that the photo manipulators who were behind this campaign included characters from both the original trilogy and the prequels. There are no characters from the upcoming movie, but I guess it’s better that way, as there’s no way to know now how much people will root for any of them.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Stormtrooper Edition

The mindless white followers of Darth Vader were reimagined as an Italian street car that’s unsettlingly elegant.

As is the case with most cars in this collection, the windshield is supposed to represent either the eyes or the visor of the characters, and Giulia’s is perfectly complemented by the frontal air intake.

Han Solo’s Millennium Hellcat

As much as I would have wanted to see Chewbacca as a car instead, it’s great to see that the photo manipulator’s haven’t forgotten about the starship that Han Solo piloted in the original trilogy.

The heavily modified Dodge Charger Hellcat captures the spirit oft he Millennium Falcon perfectly, as not only the color and massive headlight remind of it, but also the mini-antenna that’s placed next to a rearview mirrors.

Darth Maul’s Honda NSX

The red Sith Lord’s 2016 Honda NSX looks as frightening as this character did in The Phantom Menace.

Honda’s entire body features horns and spikes, in an attempt to bring Qui-Gon Jinn’s murderer.

Darth Vader’s BMW Z4 Death Star Edition

Considering Dieselgate, I would have suggested using a VW car instead of BMW’s Z4 for depicting one of the best villains in movie history.

After all, VW cars have a harmful effect on the environment, pretty much like Darth Vader did.

Wedge Antilles’ Lamborghini A-Wing

Well, at least a car made by the VW Group made the list, right?

The young pilot’s outfit didn’t take a lot of photoshopping to be turned in this vintage Lamborghini.

Jar Jar Binks as a Nissan Juke

Targeted towards the young crowd (pretty much as Jar Jar Binks was, as I don’t think any grown-up Star Wars fan has ever taken that character seriously), the Nissan Juke is the perfect car to depict the abomination that is the prequel character.

Even that tongue that’s nearly touching the road makes perfect sense!

Boba Fett’s Mercedes G-Class

Mercedes G-Class is known to be a very reliable car, as are most vehicles created by this German automaker.

And you have to admit that Boba Fett was a pretty reliable bounty hunter, as well.

Luke Skywalker as a Mazda MX-5

Anakin’s son also had an outfit that’s easy to remember.

Now all we have to do is hope that some tuning division will pick up from where Carwow left off and will turn all of these curs into a reality.
