Holy Stone F181 RC Quadcopter HD Camera Drone

Posted: 30 Dec 2015 09:29 AM PST

Holy Stone F181 RC Quadcopter HD Camera Drone

Holy Stone F181 may not be the most affordable quadcopter drone out there, but none of the others can really beat it in terms of bang for buck.

There are so many different models of RC quadcopters out there that it’s become really difficult to pick one over another. The factors that are typically taken into consideration include the drone’s features and its cost. From these points of view, the Holy Stone F181 seems to have hit that sweet spot where great performance and design meet a reasonable price. The included HD camera and headless security system are only two of the many features that set this quadcopter apart.

The key return and headless security system enable the remote control to know at all times where the drone is in relation to itself. That makes it virtually impossible to lose, as all it takes to bring it back is a flick of a button.

As for the tricks it can do, Holy Stone F181 can do 360-degree flips in four directions (left, right, forward and backward). While these tricks may sound like a lot of fun, it’s recommended to learn how to fly the drone properly instead of diving head first. The blade protectors will prevent the quadcopter from taking any damage, but it’s better to take care of it from the very beginning, rather than buying drone parts as they break. On top of that, the manufacturer recommends leaving the drone cool down 10 minutes between flights, as the motors and circuit board can get damaged because of the heat that builds up during use.

The resolution of the included camera is 1280×720, and while it is capable of both recording video and taking still shots, the quality is not spectacular. However, given the price point of this drone, I’d say that the video quality of the HD camera is within expectations.

Even though the manufacturer claims that the range is between 50 and 100 meters, people who have bought the Holy Stone F181 claim that they managed to control it while it was 300 meters away.

Another aspect the manufacturer seems to have been humble about is the battery. According to Holy Stone, F181’s 3.7V 750mAh battery takes around 80 minutes to fully charge, and is able to keep the RC quadcopter running (or rather flying) for 7 to 9 minutes. Buyers have reported being able to fly the drone for more than 10 minutes, so that’s definitely a plus. Granted, the battery’s performance will drop in time, but buying new ones shouldn’t be a problem, as they’re available in packs of two for $15.50.

Check out the following video to get an idea about how the Holy Stone F181 looks and moves in real life.

The RC quadcopter HD camera drone is currently available on Amazon for $129.99, 35% off the original price. Bear in mind that from now on, drones purchased and used in the US need to be registered with the FAA.

10 Essential Gaming Accessories 2016

Posted: 29 Dec 2015 01:24 PM PST

Microsoft Licensed Energizer 2X charging

When gaming and a good set of accessories work together well, they truly take the experience to the next level. These are our favorite accessories you simply cannot miss in 2016.

When it comes to gaming, it doesn’t matter what your platform of choice is – there are always countless accessories meant to improve your game, style, and the way you interact with your consoles or PC. Most of these accessories (let’s face it) are terrible, but a few of them have truly earned a spot as true essentials, and we simply can not imagine gaming without them – so without any further ado, here is our list of the essential gaming accessories for 2016.

Microsoft licensed Energizer 2X Charging System for Xbox One & PS4

We love the fact that our gaming can now be done mostly wirelessly, and it’s great to not have to depend on cables – although this has the downside of all of our favorite gadgets, accessories and gaming controllers having to recharge, a lot. Chances are that if you’re prone to long gaming sessions, you’ll eventually end up playing with your controller plugged in with a really short cable, and that’s what the Energizer 2X Charging System attempts to solve in its PS4 and Xbox One version. Now you can extend your game time without having to worry about battery life. This charger is currently on sale for $19.99, down from its usual price of $29.99 USD.

Steam Controller

Whether you’re a PC purist or like consoles, everyone can agree that some games are just meant to be played with a gamepad and not with mouse and keyborad. The Steam Controller is a godsend for PC gamers who are looking for a compromise, for a gamepad that’s tight enough to play Super Meat Boy or that can slide quickly for smooth FPS play. The Steam Controller was designed by the Valve team themselves, and is not finally ready to be sold and you can buy it for $49.99 USD.

Nintendo Wii Remote Plus

The Nintendo Wii U’s main controller is basically the fusion of a tablet and gamepad, but if you want to play with more than one player, you’re going to need more controllers – and that is why the Wii Remote Plus are a must. These controllers are simple enough that anyone (gamer or not) can pick them up and play, and make the couch multiplayer experience memorable for anyone. These controllers (the same ones you have from your original Wii) can be bought for just under $40 USD.

Xbox One Kinect Sensor with Dance Central Spotlight

The Xbox One’s Kinect is a completely new experience compared to what we saw in the Xbox 360’s generation. The new Kinect allows you to use voice commands your Xbox and TV, make Skype calls in HD, and play games using your body as the controller. This bundle in particular is a fantastic deal for it includes a download code for Dance Central Spotlight, one of the greatest games to play with friends in the same room. It’s currently on sale for $99.99, down from its usual $149.99 USD.

PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset

It’s just amazing how much better the PS4 is when compared to the PS3 when it comes to online functionalities and OS stability. As a true next-gen experience, now it is really worth it to invest in headsets and things to be comfortable while playing, because you will be doing it a lot. The PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset is the best compromise between price and quality, for bringing you fantastic sound quality and party chat capabilities with official support for under $80 USD, as it’s currently on sale. Don’t miss out on it!

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter

As opposed to PlayStation, the Xbox already has a long and rich story of great online functionality that brought us fantastic experiences such as Halo, Gears of War or Call of Duty – so it’s likely you already have a good set of headphones from the previous generation. The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter ensures you can do exactly that, and can do things like easily adjust chat audio without ever taking your hands off the controller. You can buy yours for just under $25 USD.

Logitech G502 Proteus Core Gaming Mouse

If you’re serious about gaming, you know how hard it is to find a mouse that performs just right. The Logitech G502 Proteus Core Gaming Mouse is a one device fits all solution, as you can customize its weight, surface and balance to get the best performance no matter what. It comes with 11 programmable buttons you can set up to execute any combination of buttons, or change DPI on the fly for precission sniping. Even better, it’s compatible with both Windows and Mac, so it’s the perfect companion for all your competitive gaming needs.

HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset

Speaking about competitive gaming on PC, the HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset is absolutely our favorite device for those intense sessions of Counter Strike: Global Offensive or League of Legends. They’re not only incredibly comfortable but also sound great and look just beautiful while not even being that expensive. You can purchase yours right now for $67.99, as they are on sale, and over 20% down from the usual $99.99 USD price.

Nyko Intercooler for Xbox One And PS4

Most of us had some bad experiences past generation with the Xbox 360 overheating and shutting off – forever. The new generation doesn’t seem to have such a glaring problem so far, but if you live in an area with hot weather and would rather be safe, the Nyko Intercooler for Xbox One And PS4 will give you the peace of mind you’re looking for. This is a USB powered cooler that reduces ambient air temperature by pushing hot air away from the console, and fits the console aesthetic on top. You can purchase one for about $21 USD.

Nintendo Pro Controller Black – Nintendo Wii U

The Nintendo Pro Controller is a must-have for Wii U owners who are more into action games than the more laid back or couch-play experiences of many titles such as Nintendoland or Pikmin. If you need precise controls to play something more action oriented such as Bayonetta, Super Mario 3D World or Super Smash Bros, this is the controller you’re looking for at just under $49.99 USD. You won’t believe the wicked weaves you will be able to pull off with it.

iTENS Is World’s 1st Wireless, App Enabled TENS Therapy Device

Posted: 29 Dec 2015 12:46 PM PST

iTENS Wireless App Enabled Therapy Device 01

Wearable tech and pain relief aren’t typically found in the same sentence, let alone in the same device, but iTENS, a medical gadget that will be launched at CES 2016, brings these two concepts together for the first time ever.

iTENS, an Akron, OH-based healthcare and technology startup that made a goal out of reducing, or even eliminating pain altogether. The company’s eponymous device has recently been cleared by FDA, and after a short visit at next week’s Consumer Electronics Show, should become available in a commercial form, to the relief of the ones suffering from chronic pain.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), has been one of the healthcare providers’ main solutions for treating or at least alleviating pain for a few decades now. The devices used for this type of therapy emit tiny electrical signals through the skin that prevent pain signals from getting to the brain. In doing so, the device also stimulate the release of endorphins, which represent the body’s natural painkillers.

“The iTENS device was created for people who are in need of a portable, convenient method of pain management that doesn’t involve taking prescription medication,” explained iTENS CEO Joshua Lefkovitz. “We designed the iTENS to be thin, flexible, discreet, and easy to operate with the push of a button from the iTENS app.”

As Lefkovitz pointed out, the device represents a portable method of dealing with pain, and that is one of the highlights of iTENS. It is the first true wireless TENS therapy device that comes with a companion app for iPhones and Android devices. To grasp the revolution brought forward by this company, try to imagine that TENS devices normally include a separate unit and wires, whereas iTENS only involves an electrotherapy device that communicates via Bluetooth with smartphones running the companion app.

It should be noted that, at the most, smartphones have been used in tandem with medical gadgets either for gathering statistical data or for providing biofeedback. The iTENS takes an entirely different approach, as it actually delivers therapeutic treatment stimuli that lead to instant and durable pain relief.

iTENS has been classified as a medical-grade device that doesn’t require a prescription, so once it will be commercially available, people in pain will be able to purchase it right away. The included Li-Ion battery enables people to use the device for up to 24 hours on a single charge, with the only consumables remaining the peel’n’stick gel pads. Even those are reusable, but should users need to replace them, they will find these at affordable prices.

To learn more about the iTENS wireless, app-enabled medical gadget, head over to the manufacturer’s website, or if you happen to be in Las Vegas next week, check out the booth #74926 at the “Living in Digital Times” section of the CES 2016 tradeshow, which is set to take place between January 4-9.

Gingerbread Iron Throne Fit for a King

Posted: 29 Dec 2015 11:59 AM PST

Gingerbread Iron Throne 00001

One of the most significant objects in the Game of Thrones universe is the Iron Throne located in the Great Hall of the Red Keep in King's Landing. The King, Lord Regent and Hand of the King are the only persons who can sit on the throne and thus it represents the authority of the monarchy that rules the Seven Kingdoms.

The throne was forged at the order of Aegon the Conqueror's who was the first of the Targaryen Kings and unified the independent kingdoms of Westeros under his rule. It is made of the 1,000 swords that surrendered to him in the War of Conquest. The dragon Balerion the Black Dread melted them with his breath and then bent the throne in the shape it has in the film.

The problem with a throne made of iron is that it is quite cold and deadly, so a group of friends gave it a nice holiday twist by making one out of gingerbread. Their version comes with warmer tones and decorative motifs made with blue and purple to look a lot more festive. It transforms the threatening symbol of power into a delicious treat that pays homage to the saga of George R. R. Martin in a really original way.

The great thing about this gingerbread throne is that it was made by a group of friends who joined forces to create something wonderful and this is quite the antithesis of the dragon forged seat which is the epitome of selfishness as we have seen in the books and TV series.

Stannis Baratheon described the chair to Davos Seaworth thus: "Have you ever seen the Iron Throne? The barbs along the back, the ribbons of twisted steel, the jagged ends of swords and knives all tangled up and melted? It is not a comfortable seat, ser. Aerys cut himself so often men took to calling him King Scab, and Maegor the Cruel was murdered in that chair. By that chair, to hear some tell it. It is not a seat where a man can rest at ease. Oftentimes I wonder why my brothers wanted it so desperately."

This is certainly not the description you would give to this yummy gingerbread version but it is closer to the holiday spirit and they paid a marvelous and ingenious homage to the popular series.

Be a Warm Techie with These Super Soft Texting Gloves

Super Soft Texting Gloves 01

After many warnings that winter would be coming, the bone-chilling season is finally taking over the northern hemisphere, and while your outfit is generally up to you, if you’re planning to use your mobile device outdoors, we recommend getting a pair of super soft texting gloves.

Regardless if you have an affinity for mobile devices or not, you most probably are aware of the damaging effect of cold air on your skin. Sure, there are plenty of remedies for dry skin, but maybe it would be better if you prevented it from getting dry, in the first place. One of the first measures that you could take is to wear gloves whenever you’re going out. But what do you do when your phone rings or you need to reply to an urgent text message? Do you remove your warm mittens in order to get on with the matter at hand, or do you use texting gloves, to make sure that your hands stay warm while handling the mobile device? If the latter, check out the super soft texting gloves that are currently available in our store, Walyou Deals.

Made out of polyester, these texting gloves cover your hands and fingers in their entirety, so you don’t have to worry about the harmful effect of chilly weather. Even though they are available in just two colors, namely black and grey, they can match a wide range of colored outfits. On top of that, another aspect you shouldn’t worry about is the size, as they come in one-size-fits all measures. With an extra comfortable fit and feel, the texting gloves seem to be the very definition of convenience during harsh winter days.

If you’re concerned about compatibility, here are some smartphone models that will work just fine with these texting gloves: iPhone 6/6S, iPad, iPod, Samsung Galaxy S6, Edge 6, LG V10, Nexus 6P, and basically any smartphone or tablet with a capacitative touchscreen.

The only thing you should mind when using these texting gloves, is not to use the smartphone or tablet in heavy snowfall, as the mobile device may not be water resistant. Make sure to check the specs of your product prior to using it in such conditions. Other than that, both the texting gloves and the smartphone should be able to withstand wind and/or low temperatures. The bottom line is that bad weather shouldn’t stop you from using your mobile device, and as long as you’re wearing a pair of texting gloves, you’re the one in charge.

The texting gloves cost $6.75 (originally $10) on Walyou Deals, and considering that they are shipped for free to continental US addresses, you should place an order before January 3, when the offer expires. Having to remove your mittens whenever you have to reply a text or answer a call can get very frustrating, but these super soft texting gloves allow you to do that without having to endure the cold.
