Stomp It: Manual Trash Compactor You Step to Compress

Who knew taking out the trash could be so fun? Well, at least it is more enjoyable than using your hand to press down the garbage and make room for more when low on bags (or simply feeling lazy).

This foot-friendly compression system comes courtesy of a five-person design team via YankoDesign: Hyunsoo Kim, Young min Yoon, Seunghee Son, Sukwon Park & Sungwoo Park.

Like a giant-sized straw, the accordion-shaped sides bend and flex as you apply pressure from above, forcing the empty space out of your trash bag before you take it out of the bin and put it in back – particularly handy for city dwellers with limits on weekly waste pickups.

Handlebar Bicycle Hanger Suspends Your Ride from the Wall

There are a lot of screw-in solutions for suspending your bike, but few do justice to your elegantly-designed wheels like this simple-but-apt solution.

Kyle Wilson lays out the tools and plans for this clever creation, which turn out to be mostly the same things and processes you would need to hang any hook or piece of wall art (though you may want to make sure you are drilling into a stuck or otherwise secure section).

Wrap the set of handlebars as desired to keep from scraping up your frame, slot them into a fitted wall flange, level and attach, and voila, a stable set of hangers that spoke out from a single attachment. Whether you want to prominently put your ride up in front of the window is a question only you can answer, but given the light footprint left on the wall, you can always change your mind, too.
