This Millennium Falcon cake is a geek dream come true Posted: 16 Feb 2015 09:12 AM PST The most exciting part of the latest Star Wars trailer was seeing the Millennium Falcon again, and someone must have thought so too, because here it is again, in cake form. What you see here is the product of Cup A Dee Cakes‘ hard work, an incredibly detailed replica of Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon in cake form. The cake was made for a little guy named Kaben, who was turning 6, but even Han Solo himself would start salivating at this delicious treat’s sight. The Cup a Dee Cakes team are geniuses, and because geniuses are not greedy they’ve detailed the process in case any of you want to try your hand at it. If you decide to go for it, be sure to send us some pictures afterwards, because we would love to see. The ship is not only accurate, featuring all cannons, cockpit and doors seen in the movie but also extra care was put in the presentation setting a black background to simulate space flight. I bet I can eat it faster than it takes to do a Kessel run. Be social! Street Fighter II Diorama Lights Up & Has In-Game Sounds Posted: 16 Feb 2015 07:00 AM PST Bigboystoys HK would win any science fair in my book with this Street Fighter II diorama featuring Capcom’s hadoken master himself, Ryu.
The first of eight figurines to their upcoming Street Fighter T.N.C. line, Ryu here (about 6.7 inches tall in size) not only comes shipped in such an awesome pose, but also the miniature background inspired by his in-game fighting state that also lights up with classic sound effects. And yes, he does say “hadoken!” Let's just say the end result, which you can see video of directly below, is PERFECT. VIDEO TO ADD [https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=760149867411995] According to their Facebook, Bigboytoys HK appears to be planning for Ryu’s shryuken-wielding bestie Ken for their next T.N.C. figure. For now though, you can pre-order the Ryu figurine and all its awesome splendor through Japanese gaming import shop Play-Asia for $89.99 (USD), to be shipped out to customers sometime in March. Samsung to cut down on bloatware on upcoming Android models Posted: 16 Feb 2015 05:00 AM PST With the upcoming Galaxy S6 in the horizon Samsung has made public that they plan to strip their TouchWiz interface of some of its default programs. The cool thing about smart devices is that, when it comes to them, it’s always users who are in control. Precisely because of that it is quite annoying when users find their devices come with preloaded apps, chosen by the manufacturers: whether we need them or not, we’d like to be the judges. Samsung are aware of this, and that is why the next version of their TouchWiz interface will feature less preloaded programs and allow more user customization. The Korean giant has reported that the next TouchWiz will not feature any of Samsung’s built in applications, but bundle instead some essentials such as Skype, Office Mobile, and OneDrive. The Galaxy S6 will be shown to the world at the Unpacked event on March 1. We know for a fact it will feature TouchWiz (the unique interface Samsung set on top of Android) as to differentiate itself from its competitors, but instead of including bloatware users will get to choose for themselves. They will still be available at the marketplace, so it’s not like they’re going anywhere, though. Samsung had a rough year in 2014, with profits going down and hard competition popping up everywhere, even in key zones they used to be in control of. That is why this Unpacked event is so important, and there is so much focus on the user, the Korean giant is fighting hard to earn back their lost goodwill. Via Cnet Be social!
