| Posted: 20 Dec 2016 08:36 AM PST  2016 is dwindling down and this is the best time for 'Top 2016 X' lists. Today we have the 8 best cameras of 2016 that have been absolutely phenomenal. Cameras are just a quintessential part wherever you go. Capturing memories and saving them can be a lot of fun especially when you get to relive them once again through those photos. I am a huge fan of photography and I love taking pictures, whether it be on my smartphone or on my camera. But these cameras are not for novices, but for the enthusiasts and photography experts who want the best out of their pictures. So, here is my take on the top 8 cameras of 2016. Leica QI'll start off with the most expensive camera of the lot. And when I say expensive, I mean it. This beast from Leica comes with a whopping price tag of $4,250. Leica has been making cameras since 1849 and they know what they're doing when it comes to taking pictures. They had teamed up with Huawei to produce the most spectacular smartphone cameras present on the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Coming back to the Leica Q, it features an aluminum and magnesium alloy body which is just marvelous. The 24.2MP sensor uses their in-house Maestro II Image Processor and the lens comes with a really wide f1.7 aperture. Other features include ISO sensitivity up to 50,000 and capability to record full HD videos at 60 frames per second. Sony Alpha a6500The a6500 is the latest addition to the alpha range of mirrorless cameras from Sony. The best thing about the newer Sony cameras is that it features the world's fastest autofocus system. It uses a combination of contrast detection autofocus and phase detection autofocus to lock subjects at about 0.05 seconds. It is also the first camera in the a-series to feature a touchscreen. This was something that has been in demand continuously by the consumers and Sony has finally decided to bring it in this model. The a6500 also has a 24.2MP Sony Exmor CMOS sensor and has the ability to capture 4K videos. Fuji X-T10Fuji X-T10 features their brand new X-T design. The camera is made of a compact magnesium body with three well-designed dials on top and 2 extra dials for commands. The dials themselves are really beautiful and they've got grooves for extra grip. The camera comes with a 16MP X-Trans CMOS II sensor and they've also used an autofocus system like Sony, which uses both contrast detection and phase detection auto focus. Another selling point of the Fuji X-T10 is that the electronic viewfinder has the world's shortest display lag-time of just 0.005s. Sony DSC-RX100 IVYes, I know that the successor to the RX100 IV has been released some time ago, but I still feel that the RX100 IV is a better bargain compared to the RX100 V. The downside is that it doesn't feature a touchscreen, but it is still one of the best cameras that you can get. It supports 4K video recording as well as super slow motion video recording at a mind blowing 960fps. The RX100 IV is the world's first camera to use a 20.1MP 1-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor along with a DRAM module built into the sensor for much faster operation. Nikon D3400It wouldn't be fair if I don't mention Nikon and Canon in a list about the best cameras. They are the two biggest players in the photography business and it is not a surprise considering the fact that their cameras are being used by most of the leading photographers. The Nikon D3400 is the best-selling DSLR camera on Amazon and it is also the most affordable camera in this list coming for $500. It comes with a 24.2MP DX-Format CMOS sensor but the aperture is much narrower than some of the cameras mentioned here. The maximum ISO range is also lower at 25,600, but the D3400 is a great choice for someone who is getting serious about photography. Canon EOS Rebel T5iThe EOS Rebel T5i is another great DSLR that is best suited for someone who is getting serious about photography. It is well placed between the budget DSLRs as well as the more expensive DSLRs. The Rebel T5i features an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor that has lower maximum ISO sensitivity of 12,800. But this can be expanded up to 25,600. The camera cannot shoot 4K videos but has the ability to shoot full HD videos at 30fps. Panasonic DMC-FZ1000The best thing about the next two cameras is that both of them use Leica lenses. That itself should be a reason for you to get them. If you can't afford to buy cameras from Leica, try to get cameras that have Leica lenses. You will not be disappointed. The FZ1000 features Wi-Fi for remote imaging control through your smartphone. There is a 1-inch 20.1MP MOS sensor like the one used in the RX100 IV and it can capture 4K videos at 30fps, which is just amazing. Panasonic DMC-LX100The last one on the list comes for around $700 but offers a lot more. The LX100 also features Leica DC Zoom lens with aperture ranging from f1.7 to f2.8. The DC Zoom lens can be used for creating a shallow depth of field effect as well as blurring the subjects that are out of focus. The camera is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30 frames per second as well as take 4K photos. The Lumix series is best known for their manual controls and all of them are featured on the DMC-LX100 as well. |
